Detailed Description
Player A holds a dodgeball and stands with their back to a hoop or hoops. Player B begins either behind or to the side of the hoops. On a coach's call, Player B cuts to the hoop while Player A pivots and attempts to beat Player B.
Goal is for Player A to pivot and throw an accurate beat in one smooth motion. Individuals can either reduce the starting distance between Player A and the hoops or take steps after pivoting to place the throw in an accurate range.
Variations:
- Adjust distance between Player A and hoops
- Adjust Player A starting position for different pivots and throwing angles
- Player C throws a pass to Player B anywhere behind hoops. Player A can only pivot once Player C has made the pass, and must read the pass to identify where Player B will be.
-Rather than starting with a dodgeball in hand, Player A must pick up the ball, then locate Player B and make a beat.
